Apple’s next iPhone is on its way and as we draw close to the September event, the rumor mill grows louder. One of the biggest rumors is that the next generation iPhone will feature wireless charging and TheNextWeb now confirms that.

Two independent sources confirmed to TNW that Apple is indeed planning on adding wireless charging to the iPhone 8. Allen Fung, GM mobile accessory maker, RAVPower, went on record to say:

“Our sources tell us the next iPhones have special technology for wireless charging that we have in this charger. Our wireless charger will wirelessly charge the next iPhones at full speed, as well as being able to charge other mobile devices wirelessly.”

Earlier this year, rumors suggested that iPhone 8 might featured long-range charging by Energous that allows a device to charge from across the room, but we’ll take what we can get. Being attached to a charging base certainly doesn’t offer much attraction, but it’s a start.
