Earlier today, Apple took down its online store, while displaying the message of “We’ve got something special for you in store”. Now we know what the surprise was: a new iPhone and an upgraded iPad.
The company has updated its homepage with its new smartphone photos, revealing a revamped (RED) edition iPhone – which as you can guess comes in red – as well as a brand new 9.7-inch iPad.
The special handset is the outcome of the company’s partnership with (RED), which aims to fight AIDS. The device practically has the same specs as the standard iPhone 7 model, but comes in a new red design. It will be priced at $749 for the 4.7-inch version and $869 for the Plus-sized variation.
While the new Apple’s iPad – simply called ‘iPad’ – will feature a 9.7-inch retina display with 2048×1536 resolution, a 64-bit A9 chip as well as 10 hours of battery life. But its best feature by far is its reduced price. Unlike Apple’s previous tablet lineup that retailed at $599, the new iPad will be priced at $329.
Head to the official Apple website to check out the new additions.
