Today, Facebook has started to roll out a new feature that allows job seekers to link up to hiring managers or workers for any job without ever leaving the platform. And LinkedIn, well they have got competition now, and their toughest one yet.

Facebook Job Ads

The update allows business pages to post job listings the same way they’d typically compose a status update. In addition to linking, sharing, and/or commenting, users also get the option to apply for the position using a baked-in “Apply Now” button. A quick press allows interested parties to fill out an application and submit it using Facebook messenger.

The new feature is like a win for both the Facebook and the companies. Businesses can now offer jobs to the people without paying money to the Facebook for the advertisement, and Facebook, on the other hand now has a leg up on LinkedIn due to the behavior of users on the site. Sharing, or tagging a friend, which Facebook provides is something that LinkedIn can’t really offer.

The feature launches today for US and Canadian Business Pages.
