Facebook has been making quite a lot changes in its Messenger app lately, and the company has introduced two new exciting changes in group conversations in Messenger. You can now use reactions during group conversations, as well as tag specific people using the ‘@’ symbol.
The reactions are useful for the same reason they are on Facebook proper: They give more ways to acknowledge the post you’ve read and express your feelings towards it. In fact, Messenger also offers a thumbs down reaction – which is something something you can’t use on Facebook.
On the other hand, the @-mentions will be useful when you want to specifically mention someone. As with WhatsApp – which added a similar feature a few months ago – it will be particularly appreciated and useful in those group chats where half the participants have muted the conversation.
Facebook is rolling out both features globally today.
