Google is a name that everyone knows – an everyday companion for many of us – puts the knowledge of the world at our fingertips. But along with providing searches for news, images, locations and countless other bits from across the web, Google is now going to provide its expertise in another new area: job searches.

Google Hire, will allow employers to post job listings, and then process and manage applications through the site. Numerous companies – including CoreOS, DramaFever, Medisas, and SingleHop – are said to already be testing the service. The platform is apparently developed by Google’s enterprise and cloud division – Bebop, which was acquired by Google in 2015.

Google’s move to develop a job platform for the recruiters could help to streamline the process. And it could also rival Microsoft’s professional networking platform, LinkedIn.
