As is the case with any big tech device, there have been numerous rumors and leaks about the Apple’s next iPhone 8. Now a new rumor suggest that the company has plans to dramatically change its upcoming next generation smartphone device. The latest rumors are from two highly-trusted sources in the mobile industry, and each seems to confirm the other.
Steve Hemmerstoffer — known as @OnLeaks on Twitter — has reportedly obtained detailed schematics for Apple’s iPhone 8. According to Hemmerstoffer, the information was “sourced directly from the factory in charge of building the new iPhone.”
The Hemmerstoffer leaks suggest what we’ve been hearing from long: thinner bezels, a 5.8-inch display, and the camera bump in the rear.
According to caliper measurements of the prototype device, the iPhone 8 is smaller all around than the 7 Plus, and fits nicely between that device, and it’s smaller counterpart, the iPhone 7.
→ iPhone 8 – 143.5 x 71 x 7.5 mm (5.65 x 2.79 x 0.29 in)
→ iPhone 7 – 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm (5.44 x 2.64 x 0.28 in)
→ iPhone 7 Plus – 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm (6.23 x 3.07 x 0.29 in)
Olixar, the famous case maker for the mobile devices, was able to confirm these measurements. Responsible for the leaked the specs for the iPhone 7, Galaxy Note 7, and Galaxy S8, we can bet Olixar is correct here too. But it is also always good to wait for the final and official device unveiling before making any judgments.
