Days after Twitter announced a 24-hours live streaming video for its platform, other social media companies are also jumping in to produce something new for their users, and the first company to do so is Snapchat.

World’s famous media sharing app, Snapchat is partnering with several television companies to create special shows for its audience, reported Wall Street Journal.

According to the media source, Snap Inc. has finalized original content deals with NBCUniversal, ESPN, ABC, Turner, NFL, and several others. The media companies would show original content — three to five-minute episodes similar to Planet Earth — in Snapchat’s Stories section.

Snap Inc. is working with several TV producers to create original content to encourage audience engagement, and while doing so, it might even tweak the app’s famous disappearing feature.

While the Twitter is apparently focusing on news, sports, fashion, music and celebrity events, Snapchat is making room for scripted shows.
