Are you still using the original version of Microsoft’s operating system, Windows 10? Be ready for the company’s reminders that it’s time to move on. In a blog post on June 30, the software giant revealed its plans of sending notifications to users who are still using Windows 10 version 1507, warning them that the operating system is at end of service and will no longer receive monthly security patches.

“Given the Windows 10 Creators Update provides the latest security protections to help keep you safe, we want to help update your device as soon as possible,” says John Cable, Director of Program Management, Windows Servicing and Delivery in the blog post.

Recently, the outdated versions of Windows helped spread the spate of malware attacks and this move is Microsoft making sure that they don’t see another outbreak erupt simply because some users are skittish about OS upgrades.
