It has been quite some time since we last heard from Android One, but now the wait is finally over. Xiaomi has announced its latest Google-powered Mi A1 at an amazing price tag of just $230 approx.
Mi A1 is a budget smartphone with the specifications of expensive flagships. The device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 Octa Core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz paired with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
Xiaomi’s Android One features a 5.5-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution. Device’s internal storage stands at expandable 64GB. Below are the complete specifications of the device:
Other than an impressive hardware, one big focus here is the software. The Mi A1 runs “Pure” Android, and will ship with Nougat 7.1.2. But Google promises the device will get Android Oreo in 2017 and will be one of the first devices to recieve Android P next year.
One of the other star features of Mi A1 is the dual camera setup on the back. Xiaomi says it opted for the wide-angle + telephoto camera setup, with 12MP lenses that are “similar to iPhone 7 Plus” and deliver “a remarkable DSLR experience.” You can see sample taken by the Mi A1 below:
Xiaomi has huge plans for the Mi A1 by expanding its availability to 40 countries worldwide, but the list doesn’t include United Kingdom or the United States.
