Friends at 9to5Google and Android Police have noticed something in YouTube’s Android app that people have been waiting for years. Google, at long last has finally begun testing speed controls in its video sharing platform’s Android app.

Android Police.

YouTube’s new feature is currently a limited server-side test and is accessible by tapping on the three-dot menu on the top right. New “Speed” option sits between “Captions” and “View in Cardboard.” Clicking on the option brings different speed choices, varying from 0.25x to 2x, the same choices that are available on YouTube on desktop.

Though this new feature is clearly a server-side test, but one should expect this to be in production and available for all the YouTube users soon enough.
