HMD Global brought back Nokia to the smartphone game once again and since then, Nokia has actually been doing very well in providing quick updates game for its new line of phones. Its security patch releases have been incredibly quick along-with software betas.

Taking Nokia 8 as an example, the flagship got an Oreo beta back in October, with the full update issued just a month later in November. Now the company is pushing updates down to the lower-end models, namely the Nokia 5 and 6. And Oreo beta for the Nokia 5 is out.

Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD, announced that Nokia 5 owners can now sign up for the Oreo beta. To do so, you’ll have to take standard steps by visiting the Nokia phones beta labs page. After signing up and inputting your IMEI and carrier, you’ll be in line to receive the beta update. The OTA may take up to 12 hours to appear though.

After Sarvikas tweet, one user tweeted the changelog that shows all the standard features that come with 8.0 Oreo update: picture-in-picture, autofill for passwords, notification dots and so on. The beta also includes security patch for December 2017, which is pretty neat.
