Facebook is extending its color-background text-only posts to comments. The new feature, which looks extremely awful, is already in server-side test and few people around the world have got it as a beta.

Our friends at The Next Web spotted the feature, courtesy of Evert Groot. For the time being, colored comments appear to be strictly limited to mobile platform.

Here is what this looks like:

Much like the Myspace of early 2000s, the feature lets users post comments on colorful backgrounds and gradients.

“We’re always exploring new ways for people to connect and have conversations, so we are testing new features on comments,” said a Facebook spokesperson to The Next Web.
