Windows 10 with its great features for gamers, also has some setbacks, like the Game DVR feature. This feature helps users to record game play and it is provided by Xbox App.

The problem is that Game DVR, also called Xbox DVR at times, can have a serious impact on gaming performance — even when you aren’t recording.

Fix Low Game FPS

You can disable Game DVR with a simple method.

  1. Open the Start Menu and launch regedit.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore.
  3. Right-click on GameDVR_Enabled and select Modify, then set the Value to 0.
  4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows.
  5. Right-click on Windows and select “New > Key” and name it GameDVR.
  6. Right-click on GameDVR.
  7. Select “New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it AllowGameDVR.
  8. Right-click on AllowGameDVR and select Modify, then set the Value to 0.

Now close the registry editor, and restart your computer. Next time when you will use your computer for gaming, GAME DVR will be disabled and hopefully you will get better FPS.
