Just about a month ago, Google rolled out “what’s this song” music identification functionality to its Assistant on both of the new Pixel 2 phones. Although, the feature was initially available for the Pixel 2, it appears that it is now rolling out to non-Google devices as well.

Music recognition is handy. It helps finding the music you like at, for example some cafe, if you don’t know what it is. Google Search had that functionality, but unfortunately, Assistant lacked it.

We tried testing the feature for ourselves and it worked perfectly fine. If you are not getting it right now, you just have to wait a bit, as someone at Google said that it started rolling out to devices beyond the Pixel 2 last Friday.
