Google is testing a new feature in its Maps app that will give live guidance and interactive real-time notifications during the journey, TechCrunch noted.
According to the website, Google Maps will also remind you to get off your bus or train when you are close to your stop, which is helpful when you’re traveling somewhere new.
To achieve this, Google is adding a new button to its Map’s transit directions section. When tapped, it will give you details about the journey, along-with live updates as you walk or ride on your local buses and trains.
The notifications on the lock screen are also interactive, which allow you to scroll right through your journey’s steps.
With the new update, transit notifications become a bit more like using Maps for walking or biking. The update is expected to live very soon.
