Huawei, though has never been shy of clever marketing, but has become even more subtle after taking over Apple to become the world’s second biggest smartphone brand. In a recent Facebook video from the Chinese tech giant, Huawei is targeting the iPhone’s new ‘neural engine’ — and says it’s going to unveil the “real AI phone” on October 16th, with the launch of its Mate 10.
Huawei, last month unveiled its latest system-on-chip: the Kirin 970, which comes with its own “Neural Processing Unit”. And as it is known, putting dedicated AI chips in mobile devices is a big advantage, which allows for faster processing, longer battery life, and also, greater user security.
It’s possible Huawei’s Mate 10 AI integration goes deeper than Apple’s neural engine. And when company says the ‘real AI phone’, then probably it shows its show ambition to leverage artificial intelligence on a system-wide level. Let’s just see what the company shows off come October 16th.
