Ahead of the final iOS 11 release in September, Apple has just released a new beta of the operating system – Beta 4 for the developers. The beta 4 is only available if you’re a registered developer for now.

iOS 11 beta 4 brings quite a few changes. And is a huge step forward for the iPad. The changes include a new Home screen app icons for Contacts and Notes, along-with the ability to open apps via Lock screen notifications with Touch ID authentication. Below are few of the stand-up changes:

→ New splash screen for Notes app
→ New splash screen for Photos app
→ Updated Reminders app icon
→ Updated Timer icon in Control Center
→ New Low Power Mode icon animation in Control Center
Pull-to-refresh in App Store Updates tab
→ Swipe gestures on Lock screen Notifications
→ Open apps from Lock screen Notifications with new Touch ID UI
→ App Switcher auto-closes when all apps cleared
→ If all the apps are closed, then App Switcher won’t launch
→ iCloud preferences now include iCloud Message sync settings

Using the beta 4 feels like you are using a completely different new device. But it should be noted that few things are still quite rough and developers are asked to install the beta on their own risk.
