Google held its keynote event on October 4th, where it revealed several tech gadgets, but one thing that completely went unmentioned was the Android updates for the Pixel 2 for three years. Google’s specs page for the Pixel 2 indicates that the buyers of the latest smartphones can expect to receive Android software updates for three years from the time of release.

The thing about the updates is mentioned in the footnotes of the Pixel listing at Google’s own store, where both software and security updates are mentioned as offered for three years. Previously Google’s Nexus devices and the Pixels were guaranteed updates for at least two years.
