Google’s latest and the greatest mobile OS, Android Oreo was released a couple of months ago and it is already available on the Pixel and Nexus devices. On the other hand, Sony Xperia XZ Premium has also got the update and the OnePlus 3/3T received the beta for Android O, but the Samsung users will have to wait until next year to get their hands on it.

According to the official Samsung Turkey website, the Android 8.0 will arrive for Samsung phones in the beginning of next year.

According to Güncel Miyiz – the website, Samsung has already started work on a “pilot model” for Android 8.0 Oreo and the company aims to start rolling out the new OS at the “beginning of 2018.” Samsung doesn’t mention which devices are set to receive the update, it just said that the devices will get the update as soon as the new year starts.

Meanwhile, Güncel Miyiz also listed some of the features that would arrive with the update, including Night Mode, new emojis and improved notifications, as well as the hint that the OS will “help minimize the background activities of applications you recently used in your device,” to allow other applications to operate faster.
