The UK-based company Integral Memory has unveiled what it says is the world’s first 512GB microSD card. As long as your device supports microSDXC, you can have half a terabyte in your palms.
In a press release, the Marketing Manager of Integral Memory, James Danton says:
“Consumers have been clear in their call for increased storage, as mobile devices have become essential to many in everyday life. As a company, we are very proud to be the first to achieve the 512GB capacity milestone in microSDXC, worldwide”.
The card’s 80MB per second peak transfer speed isn’t the fastest out there when compared to Sandisk’s 400GB microSD card which runs at 100MB/s but it should be enough for apps and tons of 4K video.
The card comes with Integral Memory’s 5-year warranty and it arrives next month in February. It’s not yet clear how much it will cost but don’t expect it to be cheap, though.
